SURREY (NEWS 1130) — Mounties in Surrey are looking for a man who they say followed three girls who were walking home from Riverdale Elementary School.
The incident happened Wednesday while the girls were heading to Holly Park on 148 Street. The trio noticed they were being followed and went into a grocery store for help.
The man left the area when the girls went into the store.
The suspect is described as a Middle Eastern man in his late teens or early 20s. He’s about 5’10, with black, messy hair, a moustache, and dark stubble. He was wearing blue jeans, a black hoodie and red shoes and was carrying a blue-coloured portable speaker.
Const. Sarbjit Sangha says the girls did the right thing and is calling on anyone who feels like they are being followed to “go to a safe place, or approach other people in the area, and call police for help.”
Anyone who has information is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502. If you wish to make an anonymous report contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or www.solvecrime.ca.
