‘Essential Travel’ art exhibitions to open in Downtown Vancouver

VANCOUVER (CityNews) – Looking to refresh your work-from-home space with fine art, perhaps? The 6th annual ParkerArtSalon will feature “Essential Travel” as this year’s exhibition at the Pendulum Gallery in Downtown Vancouver.

According to the website, the event “speaks of how art can elevate and move the spirit despite COVID-19 restrictions placed on almost all aspects of our human experience.”

The Pendulum Gallery is across the street from the Vancouver Art Gallery plaza, and the event is free.

Two exhibitions at GALLERY GEORGE by Parker Art Studios artists will also run from May 6 to 16, featuring half of the more than 60 artists, and May 20 to 30 will feature the other half of participating artists. That means you can put this event on your calendar twice and see brand new beautiful artwork each time!

The event will also include a Canada-wide online auction by Waddington’s, with half of the proceeds going to the Beedie Luminaries Foundation’s program of scholarships for financially constrained students, and the other half going to the artist.

Art will be available for sale until May 28.

Marnie Wilson, the event’s publicist, says “Normally this event is a social gathering inside the Parker Street Studios located at 1000 Parker Street but with COVID, the building is not open to the public and instead they have created a hybrid alternative,” adding, “It’s a great event to support artists and their work.”
