Hey, ‘Mister!’ Liquid nitrogen ice cream bar is coming to Kitsilano

KITSILANO (NEWS 1130) — Popular Yaletown ice cream parlour “Mister,” which features artisan ice cream made with liquid nitrogen, will be launching its second location, called “Mister Ice Cream Bar,” in Kitsilano sometime this summer!

The creative confections offered at the new location will include delicious (and gorgeously Instagram-worthy) ice cream sandwiches, ice cream pints, and ice cream dipped bars to-go in a variety of classic and exclusive flavours.

According to a release, Co-Owner Tommy Choi says, the new location has been something he and Co-Owner Michael Lai have been thinking about for some time.

“We can’t think of a better neighbourhood to be a part of – alongside some of our favourite restaurants, such as AnnaLena and Oddfish.” says Choi.

The new location in Kitsilano won’t feature the liquid nitrogen process of creating the ice cream before your very eyes, like they do in Yaletown’s flagship location. That said, everything will still be “made from scratch, in-house, using natural ingredients … that are sourced from local farmers.”

And to add one more mouthwatering tease to this launch, the announcement also says you should “expect exclusive Kitsilano flavours, in addition to Mister’s popular s’mores and brûlée creations” which Vancouverites know and love.

As for when opening day will be, Choi says, “We just signed our lease and are excited to start transforming the 400 square foot location,” with the release and social media posts only revealing that completion should be due by early this summer, with an official announcement expected on the company’s Instagram.
