VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – An exclusive Afternoon Tea experience is coming to the heart of downtown Vancouver for a third year in a row!
Launching on June 7th, Afternoon Tea in the Window is probably the chicest way to enjoy a socially-distanced dining experience, as it places its guests right in the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver’s street-level window display on West Georgia Street.
For anyone who’s ever wondered what it feels like to be a mannequin in a storefront window (I know I have), now is your chance!
To top it off, diners will be surrounded by custom art created by Vancouver-based fashion illustrator Mandy Lau.
According to a media release, Lau was “inspired by thoughts of afternoon tea and enjoying time with family and close friends, and was pulled towards the idea of an exterior street scene inside an interior – a kind of fantasy world for passersby to stop and peer into.”
And as restrictions on indoor dining loosen, what better way to ease yourself into it than with a big window blocking out the general public from getting too close, while you sip tea and nibble at sandwiches with your best friend, as the world (mainly pedestrians and traffic) zooms past you just a few feet away?
The space comfortably sits a maximum two people, and only a single seating is available each weekday, at 2 p.m., throughout the summer.
Priced at $69 per person, guests will get to enjoy treats prepared by Notch8 Restaurant including sandwiches, sweets, and of course, afternoon tea.
Tip: We advise you book ahead, as the limited experience sold out very fast in both 2019 and 2020!
