Burnaby RCMP investigating fatal hit and run

BURNABY (NEWS 1130) — A man riding a motorcycle is dead after a hit and run Saturday night in Burnaby.

RCMP says the crash happened around 9:45 p.m. at Canada Way and Imperial Street.

Early investigations suggest a vehicle rear-ended the motorcycle, then drove off.

The man was rushed to hospital but didn’t survive.

“This is a very tragic incident that has not only taken a life, but will affect countless individuals,” Corporal Mike Kalanj of the Burnaby RCMP says. “If you can assist us in our investigation, please come forward and contact the Burnaby RCMP.”

Police are asking that anyone who witnessed this collision or may have dashcam video in the area between 9:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., to please contact the Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999.
