VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — With many of us relying on the use of video conferencing during the pandemic, one BC Liberal MLA was left to deal with some hilarious technical difficulties on his own.
BC Liberal MLA for Skeena, Ellis Ross, was on a video call this week thanking friends and family for birthday wishes.
Suddenly, filters began to show up on his face turning him into a cat, robot, giving him a little purple mustache — to name a few — prompting uncontrollable laughter.
“I was trying to play with the buttons on there to kind of give it a birthday feel to it,” he says before breaking out into uncontrollable laughter.
Despite his best efforts, he couldn’t turn off the filter for the duration of his birthday message.
Ross’s birthday fell on the 16th and — according to him — we can thank him for the bright, warm weather.
“If it’s sunny in your area, it’s because of my birthday being on this day.”
Of course, if it wasn’t sunny in your area, he says he’s not the blame.
Ross was elected MLA for Skeena in 2017, and serves as the opposition critic for Environment and Climate Change Strategy.
“I hope you’re enjoying life as the restrictions get lifted. And then I hope we get our society back on track. Thank you for all the birthday wishes.”
Happy birthday, Ross.
