North Vancouver police, rescue crews search for missing hiker

NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — North Shore Rescue and the North Vancouver RCMP are searching for a missing hiker whose car was found near Grouse Mountain.
Howard Moore, 74, was reported missing by a friend Tuesday. According to a statement from police, that friend last saw Moore on Friday. Moore’s plans for the weekend included a hike on Grouse Mountain.
“North Vancouver RCMP frontline members searched for Mr. Moore’s vehicle and located it in the parking lot at Grouse Mountain. A note had been left in the window of the vehicle that read, ‘Gone to Skyline Trail, 27 June,’ according to a statement from Mounties.

“We are very concerned for his wellbeing, particularly due to the incredibly hot weather these past few days.”
Moore is described as a white man with light brown hair, and a medium build.
Anyone who sees Moore is urged to call 911.
