Missing hiker on Grouse Mountain found dead

NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — A 74-year-old man who went out for a hike last Sunday on Grouse Mountain has been found dead.

Search crews had been out looking for Howard Moore since he was reported missing by a friend Tuesday.

Moore had told friends his plans for last weekend included a hike on Grouse Mountain.

“North Vancouver RCMP frontline members searched for Mr. Moore’s vehicle and located it in the parking lot at Grouse Mountain. A note had been left in the window of the vehicle that read, ‘Gone to Skyline Trail, 27 June,’” according to a statement from Mounties.
