TikTok viral ‘Pancake Cereal’ coming to North Van ice cream parlour

A TikTok trend is coming to North Vancouver — with a twist! Many foods have become absolutely viral trends on the video-sharing social media platform TikTok. During the peak of the pandemic, wildly creative recipes helped us indulge our taste buds and experience something out of the ordinary, and made quarantine a little less monotonous.
“Pancake cereal” is one of the breakfasts that became widely loved by TikTokers around the world. If pancake cereal hasn’t reached your TikTok “for you” page yet, here’s the scoop on how to make them. All you have to do is take your pancake batter and make the tiniest pancakes you can. Hundreds of them. Then, fill up your bowl with tiny pancakes, put butter, syrup, or whatever toppings you like, add milk, and of course — eat them like cereal.
Now that you’re an expert in pancake cereal, TikTok Canada has teamed up with restaurants across the country to bring those viral sensations we tried to make (and sometimes failed), to restaurants! Vancouverites can taste tiny pancakes in a brand new way — pancake cereal sundaes are going to be available for a limited time at one of North Vancouver’s favourite local ice cream shops.
According to a release, “after the longest winter on record, summer 2021 aka: “two-vax summer” should be one to remember as lockdown restrictions ease … and just in time for National Ice Cream Day on July 18, TikTok is launching Summer Starts on TikTok, bringing the trends that we’ve all seen on TikTok to IRL!”
You’ll be able to get your hands on your very own pancake cereal ice cream sundae by heading over to North Vancouver’s Lonsdale Quay and Shipyards area. The delicacy will be available from noon to 10 p.m. over the course of two weekends: July 16 to 18, and July 23 to 25, at Welcome Parlour.
The pop-ups will also take place in Toronto, Calgary, and Montreal, and allowing local restaurants in those cities to create spectacular limited-time treats to taste-test this summer.
