BC SPCA in need of foster volunteers in the Lower Mainland

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — The BC SPCA is looking for new foster volunteers in the Lower Mainland as they continue to help vulnerable animals find a safe place to thrive and recover.
Michelle Rodgers with the SPCA says there’s an increase in the need for foster parents, especially in the summer months because most people are out on vacation.
“[Fostering] helps prepare animals for adoption by giving them a chance to live in a home where they can fully express their personality, work to overcome fears or recover from trauma,” she explains.

The challenges of the wildfire season have also led to an influx of displaced animals in their care.
“We could not provide the level of care and support these animals need without our foster program and the volunteers who provide a safe, comfortable home for them,” Rodgers says.
The SPCA is also looking for people particularly on Vancouver Island, in the Okanagan/Kootenay Region, Fraser Valley, and the Northern region.
