VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – WestJet has made some changes to its safety handbook after one of its planes went off a snow-covered runaway in Terrace last year.
These safety plan changes occurred after the De Havilland aircraft, which had four crew aboard and 43 passengers on board, skid on the runway on Jan. 20, 2020.
Upon landing on Runway 33, the plane had travelled a 30-metre path.
It moved into a pile of plowed snow, and after flight crew requested the services of aircraft rescue and fire fighting.
Passengers and crew were not hurt, and were transported to their airport terminal by bus.
