Parole extended again for ‘balaclava’ rapist Larry Takahashi

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — Serial rapist Larry Takahashi has been granted six more months of day parole.

The now 69-year-old sexually assaulted dozens of women in Edmonton during the 1970s and 80s.

Known as the “balaclava rapist,” he was initially granted freedom in 2016 after serving 30 years in prison. He currently lives in the Vancouver-area at a halfway house.

Takahashi’s 10 p.m. curfew was suspended in August 2020, and he is now allowed to access the internet.

He still must follow some conditions, including not looking at pornography, and must report any relationships with women. He is also banned from consuming non-prescription drugs or alcohol.

Takahashi is described as Asian, 5’9″, with short grey hair and brown eyes. He also normally wears prescription glasses.
