WEST VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — For delivery driver Ronnie Macbright, there’s no order too small — and that attitude paid off with a big tip from a customer in West Vancouver Thursday.
The Skip the Dishes driver was shocked when he was handed five $100 bills from a customer he had never met before.
“First I thought he was joking. But then he said ‘No, I’d really like to give you $500.’ I said, ‘What is the reason?’ He said, ‘Just to make your day, you guys work hard,'” he told NEWS 1130.
“The profit that I was going to make was only $6.50. It wasn’t far away from where I picked up the food. I didn’t care. I just want to help out and just want to serve the community. Some other drivers who don’t usually take small orders, they reject them. I always take all the orders whether there’s big profit or small profit. I always take the orders.”
“What goes around comes around, that’s my belief at least.”
Macbright works seven days a week, and believes what goes around comes around. He says the surprise tip came just days after he gave $200 to each of his sisters because they were struggling to make ends meet.
“We still have some generous people, some people with a big heart, you know,” he says.
“It made my day.”
Macbright called NEWS 1130 to share the story because he thought people might enjoy hearing some good news about the kindness of strangers.
