Teen killed in Surrey crash remembered by family during funeral

SURREY (NEWS 1130) — One of the three teens killed in a tragic crash in Surrey a week ago has been laid to rest following an emotional funeral Saturday morning.
16-year-old, Ronin Sharma, is being remembered as the type of kid who would light up a room as soon as he walked in.
During the service open only to family, Sharma’s brother said he never thought he’d have to write a speech to give at a funeral, especially one for his little brother.
“Ronin was everything you could ask for in a little brother,” he said. “He was a natural-born leader, so full of love, energy, empathy, the list could go on forever. His drive to be the best person he could be inspired me daily to be the best person I could be.”

He described his brother as a person who brought joy and laughter to everyone with his smirk.
His sister said she couldn’t have been more proud of the man and hockey player he grew into.
“I’d anything in the world. To hear your voice and see your smile one more time. I wish there was something I could do to bring you back,” she said.
“Even though you were only here for a short period of time, I am seeing the impact you’ve made on several people’s lives. And I couldn’t be more proud.”
She said she’ll forever cherish all the times they spent together, including the dinner the three siblings shared just hours before the crash.
“No words in the world will ever explain how much I miss you.”
Sharma and his friends — 16-year-old Caleb Reimer and 17-year-old Parker Magnuson — were killed last weekend when the car the three teens were in crashed into a tree.

The teens, who were all youth hockey players with the Delta Hockey Academy, have been mourned by the Lower Mainland community and beyond.
While an investigation continues, Mounties have revealed speed was a factor.
Reimer and Magnuson are set to be laid to rest next week.
A GoFundMe page set up to support the three teens’ families has surpassed its $50,000 goal.
