Witnesses sought in Surrey massage parlour sex assault investigation

SURREY (NEWS 1130) – Mounties are looking for any potential witnesses who may have information about an alleged sex assault at a massage salon in Surrey several months ago.

The incident is said to have happened at Shri Professional Massage along 137 Street in March. Police say a woman had reported she was assaulted while receiving a massage.

The investigation eventually led to the arrest of Shri Rampol on June 22.

As the RCMP continues to look into the matter, investigators say they believe there may be others in the community who may have information about the March incident.

“We know that it can be difficult for people to come forward and speak to police about sexual assaults,” says Const. Sarbjit Sangha with the Surrey RCMP.

“We want to assure the people who come forward with information that if you need support through the investigation and court process, we can engage our Victim Services for assistance.”

Rampol was released shortly after his arrest on the condition that he not perform any massages on any female clients without an informed third party present. He has since been charged with one count of sexual assault.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.
