Surrey shooting leaves one person dead, IHIT investigating

SURREY (NEWS 1130) — One person is dead after a shooting Tuesday night around 10 p.m. near the Surrey/Delta border.

Surrey RCMP were called to the area of 122 A Street and 80 Avenue over reports of shots fired, officers then located a person suffering from gunshot wounds.

Despite the efforts of first responders, the victim died on scene. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has joined the Surrey RCMP Major Crime Section for this investigation.

Traffic in the area will be impacted for an unknown amount of time, Surrey RCMP say.

Further details are expected from IHIT.
