Reports suggest the son of Vancouver Canucks General Manager Jim Benning was hurt after a fight in Vancouver early Sunday morning.
The Vancouver Sun says a now-deleted or expired series of social media posts from Danica Benning suggests she and her brother were jumped by a group of men as they waited for an Uber.
She says it happened at 2 a.m., after the Bennings were leaving The Banter Room in Yaletown.
Benning appealed for anyone with information on the suspects to come forward.

She claims four men “jumped” her brother and “almost beat him to death.”
“I tried to fight them off my brother and then one of them strangled me and threw me up against a wall,” the Benning’s social media post read.
Vancouver Police Const. Tania Visintin says officers were called to the area of Mainland and Nelson streets around that time for reports of an assault in progress, but did not confirm the identities of those involved.
She says three witnesses told police the assault was done by one suspect, and they left the scene before officers arrived.
“A 25-year-old man had very visible injuries to his face. He declined any assistance from paramedics and told officers he would go to the hospital himself,” Visintin said.
The Vancouver Canucks declined to comment on the allegations.
The incident remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact Vancouver Police.
