After a storm tore through UBC campus Saturday night, TransLink is diverting buses, warning it could take several days to clear all of the fallen trees and restore the trolley lines.
University Boulevard is closed to all traffic between Blanca and Westbrook Mall. The 004 and 014 buses will all be detoured onto 16th Avenue. The 099 B-Line will detour along Chancellor Boulevard.
Footage posted online shows the storm — which resulted in a brief tornado warning for parts of Metro Vancouver — shows hail, lightning, and whipping winds.
“Our crews are working hard to restore service as they wait for the City of Vancouver to clear the large number of fallen trees. We have been advised, this could take several days until regular access is opened to traffic on this route,” says a statement from TransLink Sunday.
“We thank our passengers for their patience and regret this inconvenience.”

The University Golf Club has also been closed.
Course CLOSED
Last night’s storm in the UBC/Point Grey area has left us with many fallen trees and debris on the golf course. As a result, UGC will be CLOSED until further notice. We will provide an update in the coming days when we have a better idea of a re-opening. pic.twitter.com/pNJlt3GyrU
