Vancouver police are hoping video footage will help witnesses remember a hit and run that happened three weeks ago.
It happened on E. Hastings St. near Commercial Dr. at about 11 p.m. on Oct. 19. Police say a motorcycle rider was heading east on Hastings when he was hit by a grey or silver SUV that was turning left onto Commercial.
The driver didn’t stop and took off, heading east in the south lane of E. Hastings.
The 29-year-old motorcycle rider was taken to the hospital for serious injuries, but they were not life-threatening. He’s now recovering at home.
Police have shared a photo and surveillance video of the suspect driver and vehicle, in the hopes witnesses will come forward.
“Investigators believe there will be extensive damage to the rear passenger side of the suspect’s vehicle as a result of the collision,” said Const. Tania Visintin.

Visintin says they are turning to the public for help after a “lengthy and ongoing investigation.”
If you have any information or dashcam footage from the area around that time are asked to call the VPD Collision Investigation unit at 604-717-3012.
