How to help British Columbians impacted by floods, mudslides

The days following the rainstorm have brought heartache to so many British Columbians as floods have left thousands stranded, and mudslides have left at least one person dead and others remain unaccounted for.
Despite all the uncertainty this climate disaster has brought to the province, locals have proven they are willing to lend a hand.
Here are ways you can help:
Abbotsford
- The Archway Community Services is accepting food donations only. As of Thursday, the non-profit says they’ve reached capacity for item donations needed most. You can also make a donation directly to the organization through its website.
- MCC Clothing is accepting donations for B.C. flooding evacuees but urges locals not to donate large appliances and furniture because of a lack of space at their location.
- Donations can be made at the 31872 South Fraser Way location Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m or Saturday between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.
- Donations can also be made at the 33933 Gladys Avenue location Saturday between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.
- For online monetary, that can be donated to the Abbotsford Disaster Relief Fund.
Princeton
- A Princeton Flood Relief Fund has been created by the Town of Princeton and Community Foundation of the South Okanagan Similkameen.
Langley
- The Twins Cancer Fundraising is hosting a Flood Donation Drive-Thru Saturday, Nov. 20 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Sammy J’s Grill and Bar in Langley.
B.C.
For general money donations to the province, those can be made to:
- United Way BC Flood Response Fund
- Canadian Red Cross: BC Floods and Extreme Weather Appeal
- BC Search and Rescue Association

Animals
- The BC SPCA is accepting donations through their emergency Flood Relief. This fund provides those stranded or evacuees with food, crates and other pet supplies. The SPCA is also providing Emergency Boarding in Kamloops, the Lower Mainland and Cowichan for evacuated animals.
- The Langley Animal Protection Society is accepting donations.

The online fundraising site, GoFundMe has created a sub-section for those affected by the flooding.
