With the help of farmers in Sumas Prairie, the Abbotsford Police Department was able to arrest two-property criminals on Dec. 15.
Just before 4 p.m., a farmer on the 2900 block of Tolmie Road noticed two suspicious males trying to steal his equipment. They fled after being noticed, leaving a vehicle that had been reported stolen behind.

The Abbotsford Police Department sent nearby flood response officers to the site, where they brought dogs and back-up.
But before their arrival, they told farmers to keep an eye out for the two men on the run and gave them any information they might need to cooperate with the police investigation.
After they established containment, the police found the two men and took them into custody without injury.
