Environment Canada says, “frontal disturbance advancing from the south will spread rain mixed with snow over the region beginning late Tuesday afternoon. Freezing rain is also possible over eastern sections of the Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley as well as Inland Vancouver Island.”
The area which is predicted to see the most snow accumulation is the eastern part of the Fraser Valley including Abbotsford, Chilliwack, and Hope.
The snow is expected to be heavy Tuesday night in those areas. Lower elevations may see freezing rain or showers at that time
Snow and strong arctic winds with chill values nearing minus 20 are expected for inland parts of the North Coast.
The statement is in effect through to Wednesday morning, and motorists are urged to drive to conditions.
