There were major backups along Highway 1 eastbound in Coquitlam Wednesday morning after a crash left two people critically hurt.
A flipped vehicle closed the highway to eastbound traffic for hours from the Port Mann Bridge. Traffic was backed up as far as the Gaglardi Way exit.
All lanes were reopened by around noon.
RCMP say the collision happened shortly after 7 a.m. Investigators believe an eastbound red Mazda rear-ended a tandem dump truck. A man and woman were sent to the hospital.

Rain has been coming down heavily, and police say at least one vehicle may have hydroplaned. However, the exact cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Police are reminding everyone to slow down in the wet conditions and ensure their tires are in good condition with sufficient tread.
