A woman has died after being found with stab wounds in an underground parkade in Coquitlam Thursday evening, according to police.
She has been identified as 32-year-old Ramina Shah from Maple Ridge. Police released her photo in hopes of connecting with witnesses who may have seen her around the time of the incident. They are also hoping to speak with Shah’s family and friends.

“At this time, this appears to be isolated and not random,” reads a statement from Sergeant David Lee with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team, which is investigating the case with help from the Coquitlam RCMP, the Integrated Forensic Identification Section (IFIS), and the BC Coroners Service.
The Coquitlam RCMP say officers were called to Austin Avenue near Marmont Street around 4:30 p.m.
“The victim was transported to hospital and sadly was pronounced dead a short time later,” says a statement.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has been called in, and a spokesperson says investigators are canvassing the area for witnesses.
“Even though late in the evening, an IHIT team of investigators is working with the Coquitlam RCMP and Integrated Forensic Identification Section (IFIS) as they examine the scene on Austin,” says a spokesperson in an email, adding the victim will not be identified until after the next of kin is informed.
Police are asking for dashcam footage from anyone driving in the area between 2:30 and 5:30 p.m. Anyone with information is urged to contact the homicide team by calling 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) emailing ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
