BC Ferries says a problem on the Spirit of British Columbia forced the cancellation of at two sailings on the Tsawwassen-Swartz Bay route Tuesday.
A “hydraulic ram issue” on the ship is preventing the doors from closing, BC Ferries says in a statement.
The 1 p.m. sailing from Swartz Bay has been cancelled, as has the 3 p.m. departure from Tsawwassen.
#ServiceNotice #SwartzBay – #Tsawwassen #SpiritofBC has cancelled the 1:00 pm sailing due to mechanical issues. The ship is experiencing a hydraulic ram issue that is preventing doors from closing.

Reservations on those sailings were cancelled and booking fees were refunded, BC Ferries said.
The ferry terminals had already been busy, as many people appeared to extend their Family Day long weekends to include Tuesday. The BC Ferries website indicates are no available spaces on that route until Wednesday morning.
