A familiar name is putting her face to the Human Rights complaint filed against the Cloverdale Rodeo & Exhibition Association last year.
Laura Ballance is taking on the role of “Representative Complainant,” and asking former rodeo employees, volunteers or contractors to contact her if they wish to learn more about the complaint.
Ballance a prominent contractor in the communications field, over the years has often spoken publicly on behalf of major organizations on the Lower Mainland.
Hardest decision of my professional career but I know in my heart it is the right thing to do. So many brave women, so many years, so many witnesses. If you are an employee, volunteer or contractor who has been impacted and would like to learn more: https://t.co/1C78TAyQwx

The City will not speak, given the matter is before the Human Rights Tribunal.
CityNews has not heard back from the rodeo association.
The complaint will include anyone who worked for the rodeo association between 2012 and July 12, 2021, and experienced “hostile or demeaning conduct by management and/or members of the Board of the Association”
