Stanley Park seawall reopened between Second and Third Beach

A section of the Stanley Park seawall in Vancouver has been re-opened after a windstorm and king tide took out sections of the road two months ago.

After the destruction in January, huge chunks of broken concrete were left lining the seawall which joggers, cyclists, and other park users enjoy year-round. The closure stretched from Sunset Beach to the Lions Gate Bridge.

On Friday, the Vancouver Park Board announced the road between Second Beach and Third Beach was re-opened.

“Pedestrians can expect some uneven surfaces, unpaved sections, and other maintenance activities,” the board said on social media.

Some construction work is still underway. Park users are asked to be careful.
