Sex offender wanted on Canada-wide warrant after leaving Vancouver hospital

Vancouver police are asking for the public’s help to find a man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant after he left a local hospital when he was ordered not to.
Marcel Lawson was told by the courts to remain at an unnamed hospital while receiving medical treatment, under the terms of his long-term supervision order. He has a history of serious sexual offences and is at risk to re-offend, according to Vancouver police.
Lawson is described as 5’8″ tall, about 230 lbs with short black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black sweater with a white Under Armour logo on the chest, and he was carrying a black backpack. He may also walk with a limp.
Anyone who sees Lawson, or knows of his whereabouts, is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.
