Man found dead in Langley, IHIT called in

It was a significantly violent night on Friday in Metro Vancouver, and Langley RCMP are investigating the death of a man in a hotel room.

Around 8:50 p.m. on Friday, Mounties were called to the Highway Hotel on 88 Ave, for an unresponsive man in distress with life threatening injuries.

According to police, the man died while being treated in the ambulance. RCMP believe foul play led to the man’s death and the scene has been blocked off for the investigation.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called, as well as the BC Coroner’s Service to investigate the death. Police say they are currently in the evidence gathering phase, and will not be providing further information at this time.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact the IHIT Information line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca
