Man dies after shooting in Surrey’s Whalley neighbourhood

A man shot in a home in Surrey’s Whalley neighbourhood died after he was transported to the hospital.

RCMP say they were called to 126 Street and 97 Avenue at around 2:30 p.m. Friday after reports of a man with a gun in the area.

The 48-year old victim was found in the home with serious injuries and was treated in the hospital. Despite life-saving efforts, Mounties say he did not survive.

Two suspects took off on bicycles but were eventually found, with the help of the RCMP’s Air 1 Helicopter.

The pair was arrested and taken into custody.
