The head of SkyTrain, Michel Ladrak, is set to leave his role as president and general manager of the BC Rapid Transit Company (BCRTC) in June.
TransLink has confirmed Ladrak’s last day will be June 10 to pursue another job closer to home in Europe.
He will leave his role less than three years after taking the position in August 2019.
Ladrak’s decision is a personal one, according to TransLink, adding it supports his decision.
“Thanks to this commitment, he is leaving both SkyTrain and West Coast Express in a better position for future renewal and expansion.”
Mike Richard, vice president of operations at BCRTC, will fill the role of president and GM on an interim basis while the company looks for a permanent successor.
Before arriving in Metro Vancouver to work with BCRTC, Ladrak was managing director for Auckland Transport Rail in New Zealand, managed by Transdev.
