Mounties in North Vancouver are looking for witnesses after a man reportedly offered kids drinks and invited them to sit in his vehicle in the Keith Lynn area this week.
Police say three nine-year-old kids were playing at Michael Park at Drayton and E. 11th streets on Wednesday sometime between 2:30 and 3 p.m. when they were approached by a man.
“The man, who was in a green truck with a canopy, invited the youths to get into his vehicle to have some juice,” reads a statement from North Vancouver RCMP.
Police say the kids ran home and told their parents what happened.
The truck is described as a green, newer-model pick-up with a canopy.
The man is described as white and in his 40s with curly, grey, medium-length hair. Police say he may speak with a Spanish accent. The only clothing description provided is a grey t-shirt and mirrored sunglasses.
If you witnessed this incident, or have surveillance or dashcam footage of the incident, you’re asked to call the police. Investigators are also urging the person who approached the kids that day to come forward and share their account of what happened.
