Social media post warning of van following Surrey women prompts RCMP response

After a social media post detailing a white van following women in Surrey began circulating, Mounties are asking the public to report any suspicious activity.
Women in the Panorama area near Tamanawis Secondary have discussed being followed by the van on social media, but Surrey RCMP Special Victims Unit (SVU) says it has not received any reports of incidents.
The SVU has reached out to the social media user who wrote about her experience, and investigators are conducting a search of police files to see whether any recent reports match the information in the social media post.
“It is important that residents in our community report their concerns to police so they can be fully investigated,” says Const. Gurvinder Ghag from Surrey RCMP. “We have specially trained victim services caseworkers who can help witnesses and victims of crime, and walk them through the process of reporting to police.”
