Suspected drunk driver charged, a year after ‘life-altering’ Abbotsford crash

It’s been one year since a head-on crash in Abbotsford that left two people with “life-altering injuries.” Now, charges have been laid against a suspected drunk driver.

The collision happened at Whatcom and North Parallel roads on May 24, 2021. Police say a Honda Civic was speeding on Whatcom Road when it veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a Volkswagen Jetta.

All seven people who were in the two vehicles were taken to the hospital, including two small children.

The front passengers of both cars are left with what police describe as “life-altering injuries.” Police add their quality of life has “forever changed.”

Anureet Dosanjh of Surrey now faces nine charges in connection with the crash. The 23-year-old is charged with six counts of Impaired Operation Causing Bodily Harm and three of Dangerous Operation Causing Bodily Harm.
