Travellers will soon have another option to get between B.C. and Washington state.
A new cross-border bus service is launching, offering trips to Vancouver with connections to Seattle, Everett, and Bellingham.
FlixBus says it’ll start offering service Thursday, May 26. However, tickets available online only show the first available date between Vancouver and Seattle as Thursday, June 2.
Service will run between Thursday to Monday.
The addition of FlixBus could come as good news for many people, as gas prices continue to hover around record-highs and travel options, including train and bus service, between Vancouver and Seattle remain limited.
A new cross-border adventure awaits!
On May 26, we’re launching service to #Vancouver with connections to #Seattle, Everett and Bellingham. Summer is almost here, so it’s time to plan your next trip!

FlixBus first entered the Canadian market in April, with service added in Ontario. The expansion came after FlixMobility acquired Greyhound Lines Inc. in October of last year.
It also came after the European company broke into the market just about a year after Greyhound Canada announced it was cutting all of its remaining routes and ending operations locally.
Greyhound announced its departure from Western Canada back in 2018, with routes through the prairie provinces cancelled as of Oct. 31 of that year. All B.C. routes, except one from Vancouver to Seattle, were also scrapped at that time.

Greyhound Canada, which had been operating for nearly a century, had struggled with declining ridership, increasing competition, and deregulation for years.
Outside of Canada, FlixBus says it serves over 2,500 destinations in 36 countries outside of the U.S.
The company has billed itself as one that focuses on “digitalization” and “route intelligence” while also offering carbon-neutral ticket options.
FlixBus was started in Germany in 2013. It launched in the U.S. in 2018.
