Woman accused of punching senior in West Vancouver in unprovoked attack

A woman has been charged after an incident West Vancouver police are calling an unprovoked assault against a senior.

It happened near Bellevue Avenue by John Lawson Park Monday afternoon. Police say a witness reported someone had punched an elderly man in the face.

“Investigators determined that the female and her victim were not known to each other and there had been no conversation leading up to the assault,” reads a statement from police.

The victim was treated for minor injuries and police say he has been offered Victim Services support.
