Foul play suspected in suspicious death at Surrey park; IHIT investigating

The RCMP has turned over an investigation involving a man who was found dead in Hazelnut Meadows Park Thursday to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT).

Mounties arrived at the park near 140th Street between 68 and 70 avenues in the Newton neighbourhood just before 9 p.m.

Mounties have confirmed the deceased man had injuries “consistent with suspected foul play.”

140th Street between 68 and 70 avenues was closed overnight but has since reopened.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage of the area Thursday between 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. is urged to call the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
