Woman stabbed by stranger at Surrey Superstore

A stabbing at a grocery store in Surrey’s Guildford neighbourhood has left a woman with serious injuries. Police are asking for the public’s help finding the attacker.

It happened at about 1 p.m. Thursday at the Real Canadian Superstore on 104 Avenue near 148 Street.

The victim was given first aid at the scene and then taken to the hospital.

Mounties don’t know the motive for the attack.

“Based on the initial information, it does not appear that the parties were known to each other. Based on a review of the video, there was no apparent confrontation prior the incident,” said Cpl. Vanessa Munn with Surrey RCMP.

The suspect ran away right after the stabbing. She’s described as a woman in her thirties with long, dark hair. She was wearing a navy blue V-neck shirt, black pants, and white shoes at the time of the attack. She was also carrying a blue satchel.
