COVID forces Andre De Grasse to withdraw from track championship in B.C.

Sprint star Andre De Grasse will miss the Canadian track and field championships this week in the Fraser Valley after testing positive for COVID-19.

The event is set to begin Wednesday in the Township of Langley, with some events also being held in Mission at Raceway Park.

Fans will be left disappointed not to see De Grasse, as the 26-year-old six-time Olympic medallist was rounding into form, winning the 100 metres at the Oslo Diamond League meet last week in a season’s best 10.05 seconds.
