Charges approved against 50-year-old Vancouver man in relation to a May homicide

Charges have been approved against a 50-year-old man after an investigation into Vancouver’s third homicide of the year, back in May.
On May 1, VPD responded to reports of a disturbance in a building near Ontario Street and First Avenue around 2:30 a.m.
Police say “Jian Ying ‘Angela’ Du, 51, suffered fatal stab wounds and died at the scene.”

Jian Wei Wang is now charged with second-degree murder and will remain in custody until his next court appearance.
At the time of the murder, VPD said they believed the two knew each other.
