An RCMP investigation into a stolen vehicle in Surrey led to the discovery of a stockpile of drugs, a handgun, and cash.
On June 15, Surrey RCMP say they located a stolen vehicle with three people inside near 144 Street and 84 Avenue.
“With the assistance of Air 1, the vehicle was safely observed until the driver and passengers exited the vehicle in the 15300-block of 24 Avenue,” says a RCMP statement.
“All occupants were taken into police custody without incident.”
According to RCMP, in the course of the investigation, the officers found and seized:
- A handgun with two loaded magazines
- 177.48 grams of suspected Crystal Methamphetamine
- 152 grams of suspected Fentanyl
- 122 grams of suspected Cocaine
- $705.00 cash
To put this seizure into perspective, the average Surrey Secondary School has 1,143 to 1,739 enrolled students, says Media Relations Officer Cst. Gurvinder Ghag,
This one seizure has taken approximately 1,520 potentially fatal doses of Fentanyl off the streets, enough to supply a full school.
Two passengers were identified and released while a 25-year-old female driver is still in custody facing a number of firearms related charges.
