Two suspects have been charged with first-degree murder in connection with a deadly double shooting in Whistler this past weekend.
The two men, Tanvir Khakh, 20, and Gursimran Sahota, 24, were arrested Sunday. According to police, five people were initially arrested, but only two were charged.
In a media availability Monday, BC RCMP investigators said it’s believed the suspects and victims were known to each other, with the shooting linked to an ongoing gang conflict.
The shooting occurred over the noon hour, outside of the Sundial Hotel, in the heart of the resort town.

The men who were killed have been identified as Satindera Gill and Meninder Dhaliwal. Dhaliwal was the brother of Harpreet Dhaliwal, who was shot to death outside Cardero’s restaurant in April, 2021.
A month later, Meninder was named by police as one of many who were “connected to the current spike in violence” and posed a “significant threat” to the public.
Homicide investigators are also asking for associates of the victims to contact them.
