The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has now taken the lead on the investigation.

Investigators believe the shootings are targeted and “do not believe there is any further risk to the public,” IHIT said in a statement.

“The onset of any investigation is critical as we move swiftly to secure time-sensitive and perishable evidence,” says Sgt. Timothy Pierotti of IHIT. “We are appealing to anyone with dash cam video to secure the footage and to contact us immediately.”

They say their initial investigation shows it was a targeted incident.

Anyone who was around the South Surrey Athletic Park between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. or who has any information regarding the shooting, is asked to contact the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
