Two people are hurt after a stabbing in the Station Square area of Metrotown in Burnaby.

It happened shortly before 10:30 p.m. Thursday on Silver Drive, just west of the mall, where three men were fighting.

“It’s believed two men were leaving a nearby restaurant when they got into a physical fight with a third man, who was not known to them, in a parking lot. A knife was pulled during the incident,” reads a statement from Burnaby RCMP.

Two of the men involved took off in a car, which was later boxed in by police near Kingsway and Sussex Avenue.

“A 33-year-old man found inside the vehicle was taken to hospital for treatment of stab wounds. His injuries are believed to be superficial. The second man in the vehicle, who is 40-years-old, was not hurt,” the RCMP said.

The third man involved in the fight was also found nearby and was taken to the hospital. The 27-year-old’s injuries are not believed to be serious.

Mounties seized a knife from the area, and the incident is still under investigation.
