RCMP have released surveillance photos and video of two men they believe helped an accused killer escape from a Port Coquitlam jail last month.
Rabih “Robby” Alkhalil escaped on July 21, 2022. He faces murder charges for gang-related killings. RCMP say were informed by staff at 7:30 p.m. that a 35-year-old male inmate had “escaped from lawful custody.”
“Alkhalil is confirmed to have left in a White Econoline Van with two others who were posing or employed as contractors. The van left North Fraser Pre-trial at approximately 6:48 p.m., and travelled westbound on Kingsway Avenue,” said an earlier police statement.
They say the van was taken to an “abandoned location.”
The first man suspected of helping Alkhalil escape was wearing a white hard hat, a face mask, a black shirt with a high-visibility vest, black pants, black gloves, and black boots.
The other suspect was wearing a black ball cap, black shirt, black pants, black boots, black gloves, a face mask, and glasses.

Police had previously provided a description of Alkhalil: 5’10”, 166 lbs., with short black hair, and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a jump suit and a high visibility vest.
“Alkhalil is considered dangerous, so if you see Alkhalil, police ask that you not approach him and instead call 911 immediately,” the original RCMP statement said.

RCMP had previously shared photos depicting people they believed to be accomplices to the escape. However, they later advised those photos were “stock images that do not represent the suspects themselves.”
“It is believed that the suspects who helped Alkhalil escape bear a close resemblance to the photos they left behind, but those images are not them,” Const. Deanna Law said. on July 23.
