Deadly stabbing in Surrey

Homicide investigators have been called in after a man was stabbed to death Thursday night in Surrey’s Clayton Heights neighbourhood.

RCMP say officers were called at about 10 p.m. to the area of 184 Street and Fraser Highway, where they found the 45-year-old victim with serious injuries. He later died in the hospital.

“Initial indications are that there was a confrontation involving the victim and several other parties prior to the stabbing. Work is being done to identify all parties who may have been involved or who may have witnessed this incident,” reads a statement from the Surrey RCMP.

One person has been taken into custody. There’s no word on charges.

This incident is not believed to be linked to the Lower Mainland gang conflict.
