Surrey RCMP are looking for witnesses after a two-vehicle crash left one person dead late Friday night.
Police say it happened at around 11:50 p.m. when RCMP got reports of a two-vehicle collision near the intersection of 192 Street and Langley Bypass.
A brown Nissan SUV was heading westbound on 56 Avenue when it drove into the Langley bypass and hit a Honda sedan going eastbound, police add.
A 40-year-old driver of the Honda was pronounced dead on the scene while the driver of the Nissan is in police custody.
“Alcohol and speed have not been ruled out as contributing factors to the collision and the incident is currently under investigation,” said a police statement.
Anyone with more information, including dash cam footage, around the area of Langley Bypass, 56 Avenue, and 192 Street, between 11:40 p.m. and midnight is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 and quote file 2022-124760.
