Coquitlam RCMP looking for rightful owner of large sum of cash

The RCMP is trying to find the owner of a significant amount of cash that was found in Coquitlam.

Mounties say a bystander found the cash near Austin Avenue and Lebleu Street and turned it into police.

Investigators note specific questions will need to be answered to make sure the right person gets their money back.

“The rightful owner of this cash must be able to provide information about the building where the money was found, the amount, specific denominations, what the cash was being carried in, and the date it was lost,” said a police statement.

To claim the found cash, you’re asked to contact Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550 and reference file number 2022-13706.
