If you felt like August was warmer than usual, you’d be right.
The numbers are coming in and Meteorologist Michael Kuss says it looks like last month was one of the hottest Augusts on record in B.C.
“We’re missing three days of data for August at YVR but it looks like it’s going to go on the books as the hottest — if not the hottest, one of the top two or three hottest — on record,” he explained.

“The summer was slow in starting but what an August — it wasn’t only hot, it was dry too. We only had, really, two days of precipitation — 5.9 millimetres on Aug. 3 and another one, a half of millimetre of precipitation on Aug. 10.”
The data available so far shows the average monthly temperature was a record-breaking 19.8 degrees.
Meanwhile, average daytime highs were 24.1 degrees — the second-highest average daytime temperature August has ever seen.
