Amber Alert cancelled in Vancouver

An Amber Alert that was issued Monday night for a three-year-old boy who was taken from BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver has been cancelled.

Vancouver police say the boy and his mother were found by RCMP officers near Calgary Tuesday morning. The VPD adds the child is “now receiving care” and that “the suspect has been arrested.”

Investigators say the child was in treatment for an unspecified medical condition when he was taken Monday afternoon. Police at the time said they were concerned for his health and safety.

The alert was issued just after 11 p.m. Monday, with suggestions the boy had been abducted by his mother.

The advisory was cancelled just after 6 a.m. the next day.
